Dead Link

A link to a web page that no longer exists.

Domain Name

A registered term used in the address of your Web site and e-mail. For example, www.aicolorado.com and info@aicolorado.com are two uses of the domain name aicolorado.com.

Dynamic Web Site

A Web site controlled by a database; content is “dynamically” generated when you click on links. See “Static Web Site.”

E-Commerce

Electronic commerce refers to Web sites where one can buy and pay for products or services. E-Commerce sites generally have an online catalog of products and/or services, a shopping cart, and a credit card processing system.

E-mail

Electronic mail is a message sent from one user to another using the Internet or another a network.

E-mail Address

An electronic mailing address is used for sending and receiving e-mail. The @ sign indicates an email address — info@aicolorado.com, for example.

E-mail Alias

An alternative e-mail address which automatically forwards e-mail addressed to the alias to your primary e-mail address.

Extensions

Used in Web and email addresses (.com, for example) as well as on Web sites (.htm or .jpg or .asp, for example) and other computer files (.doc or .pdf, for example).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions are documents on a Web site that answer common questions on a particular subject.

Firefox

A relatively new, very nice browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation.

FTP

File Transfer Protocol is an Internet technology which allows you to quickly upload large files from your computer to the Web server which hosts your Web site, or to download them from the Web server to your computer.
